Remember that the positive method is based on reinforcing good behaviour. It is based on respect, kindness, analysis and understanding of canine behaviour.<\/p>\n

The aim is to work on the dog’s motivation and cooperation.<\/p>\n

First, get to a quiet place without distractions.<\/p>\n

We can start the exercise.<\/p>\n

Say the puppy’s name + the word “sit” + a gesture with your hand<\/strong> (hand up). The hand goes up over the puppy’s head. The puppy follows your hand with his eyes and eventually sits down.<\/p>\n

First the guiding hand holds the kibble. The puppy is sitting, reward him with the kibble.<\/p>\n

After you have done the exercise 3 to 4 times, the hand is still guiding but without kibble in the hand. The puppy is sitting, reward him with a kibble.<\/p>\n

Repeat the exercise several times.<\/p>\n
