left;\">Groups<\/h2>\n<p><strong>The FCI <\/strong>(International Cynological Federation) imposes an official classification dividing the dog breeds into 10 groups.<\/p>\n<p>Within these 10 groups are breeds with a number of common distinguishing characteristics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Group 1<\/strong>: Sheepdogs and Cattle Dogs (except Swiss Cattle Dogs)<br \/>\n<strong>Group 2:<\/strong> Pinscher and Schnauzer dogs \u2013 Molossoids \u2013 Swiss Mountain and Cattle Dogs and other breeds<br \/>\n<strong>Group 3: <\/strong>Dog Terriers<br \/>\n<strong>Group 4:<\/strong> Dachshunds<br \/>\n<strong>Group 5: <\/strong>Spitz and Primitive dogs<br \/>\n<strong>Group 6: <\/strong>Hounds, Bloodhounds and Related Breeds<br \/>\n<strong>Group 7: <\/strong>Pointing Dogs<br \/>\n<strong>Group 8: <\/strong>Game Retrievers \u2013 Game Breeding Dogs \u2013 Water Dogs<br \/>\n<strong>Group 9:<\/strong> pet dogs and companion dogs<br \/>\n<strong>Group 10: <\/strong>Greyhounds<\/p>\n<p>Attention, it is important (law of 1st -01-1999) not to confuse the notion of group with that of category (belonging or not to a \u201cdangerous dog\u201d).<\/p>\n<div
